Technology can have a good influence on kids as some people claimed. The first condition is that we must teach younger kids what is appropriate when they are granted such a power. There are so many websites out there that it is almost impossible to count, and every site has different kind of information. The good influences of technology can be like social media it can help anyone catch up with their long distance friends or family members, it give students quick answers within a few seconds instead of going to a library to read many books, it can help the teacher to see their students' progress and can give immediate feed back, it can help students to contact one another about questions they might have, and more.
There are also bad sides about having technology in classrooms, at home, outdoor, and more. The problem of technology in classroom is increasing because more children are getting technology at a younger age now. The technology in class can serve as a distraction for the students. There will be times where teachers have to ask their students to put away their phones, and if the student does not follow the rules then it will be taken away from them. Parents will be contact by the school to come and pick up their children's cell phone. The parents gave their kids phone in the first place, so they would expect to get it back right after they get home. When on phone children can encounter cyber-bullying, rude comments, and more. It increase the level of their anxiety and poor sleep pattern which lead to lower performance in school, communication with others, depression symptoms and more.
There are still more good and bad being discovered by researches on technology. There could be situations that is out of control if children do not know how to handle themselves with it, or there could be good results because they are mature, and responsible.
I found your topic interesting because I always wonder if technology is a good thing or bad but of course there are always good and bad things that come with everything. I would like to know if technology is going to start ruining our lives more in the future due to technology especially in our generation and younger? I very much agree with that, if the parents are giving the child a right to have a phone then it should be the parents responsibility to teach them how to use it appropriately and when and where is an okay time to be on your phone.
ReplyDeleteThis is interesting. Technology can be both a good and a bad thing in my opinion. It helps us complete tasks a little faster but it can also distract us from what's important. I'd like to know if technology one day will ruin our lives. I believe this completely that it's the parents responsibility to teach the kids not to be sucked into technology and use it appropriately.
